This amazing compilation of articles from the Society of Primitive Technology covers a wide variety of primitive living skills. Included are groups of articles on Fire, Stone, Bone and Wood, Fibers, Projectiles, and Art and Music.
These articles have an undertone of science laced in most articles, but it is written for the layperson. I like this book because the articles move beyond the introductory phase of common topics and really dive into the essence of the skill.
I've gotten a solid grasp of the role of these technologies had in our ancestors lives as well. Most of the authors are professors or make a living off of teaching or creating what they are writing about. If you like a holistic view of what you are learning about and want fresh perspectives on topics you have a basic grasp of then this book is for you.
